November Club Project

A couple of weeks ago, I went to the November meeting of the Six Month Club that I am participating in. My new friend Joanne is the one who organizes the group of ladies who get together. She also plans a project for us to complete. I had attended one other meeting for this club, as mentioned in this post.

Joanne is a consultant for Stampin' Up and she has a great network of ladies that she works with, and trades ideas with. This month the project was this adorable little card tote. It is made with a sheet of 8 1/2 x 11 cardstock and it can hold 4 cards.

We made 4 identical thank you cards to go in the tote...but you can put any kind of cards in there....the choices are endless!
They would make really cute teacher gifts...wouldn't they?!

Coffee Across the Miles

I have a very dear friend in Switzerland who has two little girls. We used to get together once per week for play dates and we would visit over a nice cup of coffee. My friend, Penny, loved to drink espresso from our Nespresso machine...and I used to tease her that she only loved me for my coffee, not my company. I think of her often, and when I wanted to send her a little note, I decided that a coffee themed cart would fit the bill perfectly!

Penny already received her card, and loved it! I will have to figure out how I can send her the 'real thing' next time.....

Lots of Circles

This one is from a while back.... I love the combination of the blues and greens, and I am just generally happy with how it turned out. I had purchased the circle patterned paper with the intention of using it for a scrapbook page layout that has been floating around in my head, but when it came time to make a birthday card for a little boy, it was calling my name.

This card is basically a pocket. You use the tab at the top of the card to pull the tag out to reveal the message written inside.

The circle and scalloped circle were made using punches and are adhered to the card with dimensionals. The happy birthday message was stamped on with a rubber stamp. Tie a little bit of ribbon on and voila!

Scrapbook In A Box

I think this little project is really cool. I learned how to make it a LONG time ago from my friend and fellow scrapbooker, Kristal. I really don't know where she learned it....although, for a while she sold CTMH, so I suspect that it is a skill she acquired during that time.

It is called a scrapbook in a box....and that is pretty much what it is! It is created using only 12x12 card stock and some accents (ribbon, stickers, etc.)

When the lid is lifted off, it unfolds to look like this.

Within the box are 4 layers of photos...for a total of 16 in all.
Genius, isn't it?!

So, I haven't been here in a while! It isn't that I haven't been creating...I've just been busy with all of the other day to day stuff that goes on in a busy household. I have also been working at catching up my other blog.

Anywho, enough excuses! Here I am!

I have been meaning to post the latest project that I did for a friend. She needed name cards to adhere to the top of memory boxes. This is what I came up with. It is just like an ATC (artist trading card)....basically a greeting card without the back.

I actually made a subtle change since this scan was taken. I darkened the "llie's" part so that it is more of a chocolate brown colour, and in keeping with the colour of the accent paper. (FYI...I do know that the word 'colour' is spelled without the 'u' in the USA, but the Canadian in me can't bear to leave it out!)

Some of the details are a bit hard to see in the pic (as usual). The letter 'e' has been inked and sanded around the edges, giving it a bit of a distressed feel. The flower on the bottom is raised using a dimensional, and the flower center is a rhinestone brad.

Well, that is it for now....I'm off! :)

You Grow Girl!

I absolutely love this stamp from Stampin' Up. It is part of a set that has really cute little captions like ' You Grow Girl!' and 'Congratulations on Your Swell News!'.

Overall, a simple card with some really fun paper and a cute stamp. What can be better than that?!
